Assessment Options
Live online diagnostic assessment for ages 11–21 across the UK, completed from a quiet room at home or school.
£400 includes a personalised report within seven working days, recommendations and feedback. Testing usually takes around three hours.
Live online screening for ages 8–21, lasting 20–30 minutes. £50 includes a written summary within 24 hours and guidance on possible next steps.
Screening cannot confirm or rule out dyslexia. If you proceed to a suitable full assessment within 30 days, the £50 is credited towards the £400 total.
Face-to-face diagnostic assessment for ages 8–21, at your home in Bournemouth or in a hired library room.

Meet Mark, your assessor
I’m Mark Trewby, a specialist dyslexia assessor with over 20 years of experience in education. You work directly with me from your first conversation through to the assessment, report and feedback.
I offer a calm, personal approach, taking time to explain each step and discuss individual needs. The aim is to understand the young person’s strengths and difficulties and recommend useful support.

Core qualifications: Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia/SpLD, Level 7 Dyslexia Professional Report Writing, Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET).

Safeguarding and insurance: Enhanced DBS check; professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

As school becomes more demanding, difficulties with reading, spelling and written work can become increasingly noticeable. Your child may be bright and capable but still find some aspects of learning much harder than expected.
You may notice that they:
• read slowly or avoid reading
• continue to find spelling difficult
• take a long time to complete written work
• struggle to get their ideas down on paper
• find homework takes much longer than expected
• understand something when it is explained but struggle to show it in writing
How assessment works
1. Talk through your concerns. Request a free 15-minute introductory call to discuss the student’s age, needs and suitable assessment format.
2. Prepare and meet. Complete the background questionnaires, then take part in an assessment lasting around three hours, with breaks as needed. Online appointments require a computer, camera, microphone, stable internet and a quiet room.
3. Understand the findings. Receive a personalised report within seven working days, with recommendations and a feedback conversation.
This service does not include workplace reports or completing JCQ Form 8.

Questions about assessment
How does remote video assessment work?
Testing is conducted live over a secure video link using standardised assessment tests alongside written tasks.
Candidates need a laptop or desktop computer, webcam, microphone, and a quiet room without distractions.
Can this report support a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) application?
My diagnostic reports are prepared by a specialist teacher assessor holding APC 0626/279 with The Dyslexia Guild. They can provide evidence of a specific learning difficulty for a Student Finance England DSA application.
Eligibility and support are decided by the funding body. Students funded elsewhere in the UK should check their own funding body’s requirements.
How does a full diagnostic assessment report help with school support?
The report explains the student’s literacy and learning profile and offers recommendations for support. The school or college decides how to put support in place.
For examinations covered by JCQ, the SENCo or examination centre must follow current evidence requirements and normal-way-of-working rules.
What are the payment terms and deposit policy?
A £50 non-refundable deposit is required upon booking to secure your weekend or holiday assessment slot.
The remaining £350 balance is due after testing completion, prior to the electronic release of your final report.
